"...ration of wins-to-foibles..." you're adorable (or the sophisticated, respectful version of adorable.)

Your hits and misses is VERY instructive, please continue to be straight with us. SELF CARE / ALLOW ADJUSTMENTS / TINY VICTORIES -- see, I'm taking notes here.

Is there a day of the week you sit to do all this? Or planned to? Or are you doing it per the calendars, daily?

Another tip about research calls is to ask a colleague/friend/student to make a call on your behalf to someone they know as a warm up. Always easier to rave about someone other than ourself (selves?)

Thanks for the the accountability ~ !

I share your feelings on cold-calling. I always have this fear of calling one hundred phones only to get the cold shoulder from the cold call. I one, never like accepting cold calls. Voice mail would really have to be it for me. I admire your courage to take even this step.

Colleen,

This blog is great! I'm working the start-up calendar and am enjoying reading your similar experiences as I go along. Last week, I, too, made some cold calls and was so relieved when all of them went straight to voicemail! I accomplished a lot last week, as I am researching and revamping my website's look and feel, learning all about SEO and SEM and trying to reach out to new clients. I went to bed at 8:45 on Friday night and slept for 10 hours, too. (on top of being a working maniac last week, I am 6 mos. pregnant ; )
Anyway, thanks for the encouragement and humor.
Sincerely,
Christie McQueen
